Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Fidget Digit Studios L.L.C. ("Fidget Digit Studios", "we", "us") collects through NetKit Subnet and this website, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version
The addresses and networks you enter are calculated on your iPhone and never sent to us or anyone else. Your history stays on your device. We don't have accounts and we don't sell your data. The free version shows ads, which means Google collects some information about your device; NetKit Subnet Pro removes the ads and that collection with them.
Information we collect
What you enter and calculate
Every calculation happens on your device. The IP addresses, networks, ranges and masks you type, and the results, are never sent to a server, and we never receive them. NetKit Subnet works fully offline.
NetKit Subnet keeps a history of your recent calculations, and any favorites you save, on your device so you can reopen them. It stores what you typed and the options you chose, not the results. This history never leaves your device.
Your current network
If you tap "Use My Current Network", NetKit Subnet reads your iPhone's own Wi-Fi address and network size from the device itself. It does not ask for your location, does not read your Wi-Fi network's name, and does not scan or contact other devices on your network. The address is only placed in the calculator, like anything you type.
Information you give us
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write, including any screenshots you attach. We keep support correspondence so we can follow up and spot recurring problems.
Advertising
The free version of NetKit Subnet shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. To choose, deliver and measure ads, Google's advertising software collects information from your device: an advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), an approximate location worked out from your IP address, which ads you were shown and what you did with them, and diagnostic information such as crashes and performance. It never receives the addresses you calculate or your history.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choices before any ads are requested, and you can change them later in the app's Settings under Ad Privacy Choices. Separately, iOS asks whether NetKit Subnet may track you across other companies' apps and websites. We don't ask on your first visit: the question waits until you've used the app. If you say no, you see the same number of ads, but less information is used to choose them. You can change that answer at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
NetKit Subnet Pro removes every ad. The advertising software is never started at all, and neither the consent form nor the tracking question appears.
Beyond advertising, the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting libraries. Its only network connections are for ads and for purchases through the App Store. If you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers at the device level, Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous usage and crash reports through App Store Connect. Nothing in those reports identifies you.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred, but never your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers of any kind — every file it serves comes from our own domain. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To show and measure the ads that pay for the free version
- To answer your support requests
- To find and fix bugs and crashes
- To meet legal obligations
We do not sell personal information for money. If you allow tracking, the advertising described above counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some privacy laws, including California's. Declining the tracking question stops that, and NetKit Subnet Pro stops the advertising altogether.
Who we share information with
Apple, for app distribution and for processing and confirming purchases. Google, which supplies the ads in the free version and receives the device information described above. Two others support the business around it: Google Workspace hosts our email, so anything you write to our support address is received and stored there, and Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps standard server logs. There are no others.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep information
Support email is kept for two years and then deleted. The aggregate, anonymous crash and usage reports Apple provides are kept for 90 days. Your history and favorites stay on your device until you delete them; we never hold a copy, so there is nothing for us to retain.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to certain uses. Email admin@netkitsubnet.studio and we will respond within the period required by the applicable law, and in any case within 45 days.
To delete your history: open the History tab and choose Clear, or swipe left on any entry to delete it. Settings also has Clear History. Favorites are kept until you remove them. Deleting the app from your device clears everything NetKit Subnet saved.
To stop ads being personalised, open Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking, and turn NetKit Subnet off. To remove ads entirely, buy NetKit Subnet Pro.
Children
NetKit Subnet is a tool for network professionals and students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International users
We operate from the United States. If you use our products from outside the United States, any information we process is handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email where we have one for you.
